The Lighting and Internet Connectivity for Displacement Camps project is designed to significantly improve the living and humanitarian conditions of displaced families living in camps. It focuses on providing safe, sustainable, and reliable lighting solutions, along with essential internet access in selected areas within the camps.
Safe lighting plays a critical role in enhancing protection and security, particularly during nighttime hours. It helps reduce risks and creates a safer environment for children, women, and the elderly. In addition, it enables students to study and continue their education after sunset, especially in contexts where infrastructure and basic services are severely limited.
Internet connectivity is equally essential, as it bridges displaced communities with the outside world. It allows families to access humanitarian information, educational resources, and online services, while also enabling students to participate in remote learning opportunities. Furthermore, it facilitates communication with humanitarian organizations and support networks.
The project is implemented through the installation of lighting units in key strategic locations across the camps, as well as the establishment of internet access points designed to be safe, organized, and accessible to as many beneficiaries as possible.
Beyond its practical benefits, the project also aims to improve the psychological and social well-being of displaced families by reducing isolation and fostering a greater sense of safety, dignity, and stability in their daily lives.
