As winter conditions intensify, thousands of displaced families—particularly children, elderly people, and women—are exposed to severe cold due to damaged housing, overcrowded shelters, and the lack of basic winter supplies. Many families are sleeping on the ground or in temporary tents without adequate protection from harsh weather.
Each blanket weighs between 3–6.5 kg and is designed to provide warmth, comfort, and to preserve human dignity during harsh winter conditions. The project will be implemented through coordinated volunteer efforts to ensure fair distribution and proper documentation.
Background and Justification
The ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza has resulted in widespread internal displacement, leaving many families without adequate shelter or essential winter needs. Cold weather significantly increases health risks, including respiratory infections, hypothermia, and the exacerbation of chronic illnesses—especially among the most vulnerable groups.
Winter blankets are a basic and vital necessity that can substantially reduce suffering, improve sleeping conditions, and protect displaced families from cold-related health risks. This project directly responds to urgent winterization needs in displacement camps and supports human dignity in emergency settings.
